"""MFRC522 driver for MicroPython, with two fixes for the DIY reader.

Source: https://github.com/danjperron/micropython-mfrc522
(commit 3d52d16), itself derived from Stefan Wendler's driver.

Fix 1, in _wreg and _rreg. Each byte was built with b'%c' % value.
On MicroPython 1.29 that turns any byte from 0x80 up into two UTF-8
bytes, and the RC522 receives wrong orders. bytes([value]) sends one.

Fix 2, in _tocard. The wait loop used ~ (a bitwise not) as a logical
not, so it ignored the RC522 timer and spun 2000 register reads when no
badge was present. It now stops on the timer, on the awaited interrupt,
or after 2000 reads.
